What happens at the Anglo-French Club meetings?
Meetings start at 7:30pm when:
- drinks (wine or orange juice) are available,
- tombola tickets for the evenings draw can be purchased
- the club’s collection of books (which can be borrowed) will be on display
- members can have a chat (we speak as best we can in French)
The programme for the evening starts at 8 p.m. Normally we have a guest speaker who gives a presentation in French, accompanied by slides or sound or both. Afterwards there is time for discussion. Sometimes we watch a French film and from time to time, for example at Christmas, some of our members contribute to the programme.
Usually in early summer we get together for lunch in a local restaurant and we also celebrate the 14th July at Wroughton on the nearest Sunday lunchtime, when we bring food and drink to share
